Koren István 1805 - 1893

At secondary school of Aszód Sándor Petőfi was one of his students. He was Petőfi’s landlord and he provided Petőfi with board, too. He taught in Szarvas from 1856 to 1883 till his superannuation. He studied Szarvas and collected things in connection with Szarvas. He left his collection, which has approximately 5000 pieces, for the secondary school. During his retirement he dealt with the Slovak language and literature.
